The designation aims to unite the international community in emphasizing the need for gender equality in science to achieve sustainable development.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Since then, alongside global events, IDWGS has been celebrated annually to recognize the remarkable contributions of women to science and to raise awareness that science and gender equality must go hand in hand to address the world\u2019s major challenges.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>In 2025, IDWGS will celebrate its 10th anniversary.<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-37837 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/EQf2u4mXUAAu2YN-1024x574.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/EQf2u4mXUAAu2YN-1024x574.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/EQf2u4mXUAAu2YN-300x168.jpg 300w, https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/EQf2u4mXUAAu2YN-768x431.jpg 768w, https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/EQf2u4mXUAAu2YN.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Science in the 21st century is dynamic, collaborative and diverse, serving as a powerful tool for engaging with the world and addressing global challenges. Pioneers such as Marie Curie have demonstrated that women can shape and lead scientific fields. However, her legacy as one of the few widely recognized women in science highlights the urgent need for further progress.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Importance of the Participation of Women and Girls in Science<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Increasing Diversity in Science<\/strong>: Greater participation of women and girls in science contributes to a diversity of perspectives and research approaches, which can lead to greater innovation and scientific advancement.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Inspiring Future Generations<\/strong>: When women and girls see successful women in science and how they can contribute to society, they are inspired to pursue their own interests in science.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Raising Awareness<\/strong>: Raising awareness of women\u2019s achievements in science and their role in scientific advancements is important and can have positive impacts at the community level.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Encouraging Education<\/strong>: Providing educational opportunities for women and girls in scientific fields can help enhance their skills and knowledge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Creating Support Networks<\/strong>: Establishing support and mentoring networks for women and girls in science can help them address existing challenges and achieve success.<\/p>\n<p>Therefore, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science is not only an opportunity to celebrate their achievements, but also a reminder that greater efforts are needed to ensure that everyone, regardless of gender, has equal opportunities to participate in and advance in science.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-37839 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/%D8%B9%DA%A9%D8%B3-1024x379.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"148\" \/><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On \u06f2\u06f2 December \u06f2\u06f0\u06f1\u06f5, the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed \u06f1\u06f1 February as the International Day of Women and Girls in Science (IDWGS).
