Named after the great scholar Al-Biruni, a symbol of scientific advancement and cultural exchange, the Award aims to encourage scientific cooperation, international dialogue and the responsible use of artificial intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>The Award will be presented every two years to three laureates, who may be individuals, institutions or organizations whose scientific achievements, effective policymaking or practical innovations have made a significant contribution to advancing ethics in artificial intelligence. These achievements must also be aligned with the principles of UNESCO\u2019s Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence.<\/p>\n<p>The first edition of the Award will be held in November 2025 in the historic city of Samarkand, Uzbekistan. This event represents an important step towards fulfilling UNESCO\u2019s mission of harnessing emerging technologies to serve all humanity.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nomination and Selection Guidelines<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The nomination process for the Award is now open, and interested candidates have until 30 June 2025 to submit their applications. There is no age limit for candidates.
