The event was attended by Dr. Hasan Fartousi, Secretary-General of the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO, along with a number of distinguished professors and researchers in the fields of law and philosophy.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Dr. Hasan Fartousi, Secretary-General of the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO, expressed his pleasure at hosting the event and emphasized the importance of the connection between the concepts of law, justice and peace.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>Fraternity: The Missing Link between Religion, Ethics and Law<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">At the ceremony, Dr. Mohammad Jafar Amir Mahallati, Senior Researcher at the Majd Research Center in Shiraz, referred to religious teachings and Quranic concepts, describing fraternity as one of the fundamental pillars of peace and spirituality in the contemporary world. He stated: \u201cIf a person believes and performs righteous deeds, the outcome of those deeds is fraternity and affection between that person, other human beings and God. The study of fraternity is the most important component of peace, and in a world where people are either struggling with loneliness or caught up in violence, perhaps the study of fraternity offers the best message for the continuation of life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">He also addressed the historical tension between law and human values such as fraternity, emphasizing that the discipline of law, in many parts of the world, particularly in North America, has effectively left little room for fraternity. According to him, this book and other works translated by Mohammad Hadi Talati seek to fill this conceptual gap and establish a connection between fraternity and legal systems.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-38536\" src=\"https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/5886542190484767856-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/5886542190484767856-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/5886542190484767856-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/5886542190484767856-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/5886542190484767856.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>A New Perspective on the Philosophy of Law through the Lens of Fraternity<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The book <em>Justice as Fraternity<\/em>, unveiled at the ceremony, is the doctoral dissertation of Siew Han Tan, a graduate of Harvard University. Taking a critical look at the philosophy of law in the United States, particularly the excessive legalism that characterizes it, the work seeks to introduce \u201cfraternity\u201d as a foundation for the philosophy of law.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In his remarks, Dr. Amir Mahallati stated that Siew Han Tan proposes in her book that friendships should be recognized within legal systems, just as family relationships are taken into account.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>The Iranian National Commission for UNESCO: A Platform for New Legal and Cultural Dialogue<\/strong><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Expressing his pleasure at hosting the event, Dr. Fartousi emphasized the importance of the connection between the concepts of law, justice and peace. He stated: \u201cJustice as Fraternity is a concept that today, more than ever, requires attention and scholarly work in our society, our region and the world. We welcome the unveiling of this book at the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO and hope that such initiatives will shed greater light on the path of thought and dialogue for peace in Iran and beyond.\u201d<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">The ceremony was also attended by Professor Rahiminejad, a seminary and university professor and faculty member of the Majd Research Center in Shiraz; Dr. Mohammad Eslami, Visiting Researcher at the Majd Research Center in Shiraz; Dr. Hamid Eskandari, a doctoral student in law and researcher at the Majd Research Center in Shiraz; Dr. Ghaed Sharaf, Visiting Researcher at the Majd Research Center in Shiraz; Dr. Shamshiri, a faculty member of Shiraz University and Visiting Researcher at the Majd Research Center in Shiraz; Mohammad Barakat, Director of the Majd Research Center; Dr. Sara Kiani, Visiting Researcher at the Majd Research Center in Shiraz; and colleagues from the Iranian National Commission for
