Thanks to its outstanding literary talent and a growing number of success stories, Africa\u2019s book industry has enormous potential. Although the continent as a whole remains heavily dependent on imports and foreign publishing, it accounted for 5.4% of the global publishing market in 2023, generating approximately US$7 billion in annual revenue. With appropriate measures and policies in place, the continent\u2019s book industry could therefore see market opportunities worth up to US$18.5 billion in the coming years, with educational publishing alone accounting for US$13 billion.<\/p>\n
