UNESCO regards philosophy not merely as a theoretical discipline, but as a living social force that can help build a more peaceful and just world by fostering critical thinking, tolerance, and dialogue.<\/p>\n<p>In recent years, UNESCO has highlighted various dimensions of philosophy\u2019s role in the contemporary world through themes selected for this day. In 2022, the theme \u201cThe Human of the Future\u201d[1] invited reflection on the place of humanity and questions about what it means to be human in an age of technological advancement and global transformation. In 2023, the theme \u201cPhilosophical Reflection in a Multicultural World\u201d[2] underscored philosophy\u2019s potential to build bridges between cultures and promote mutual understanding. In 2024, under the theme \u201cPhilosophy: Bridging Social Gaps,\u201d[3] UNESCO emphasized the role of philosophy in reducing inequalities and restoring social cohesion. In 2025, the theme is \u201cThe Values of Societies of the Future\u201d[4], which explores the ethical and intellectual principles upon which future societies will be built and raises questions about how humanity can navigate scientific, technological, and environmental change.<\/p>\n<p>Following a proposal by the Association for the Preservation of Iran\u2019s National Works and Cultural Figures to the Supreme Council of Public Culture, and with the approval of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, 21 November, which coincides with World Philosophy Day, has been designated in Iran\u2019s national calendar as the day commemorating Al-Farabi, the renowned Iranian philosopher and scholar.<\/p>\n<p>[1] The Human of the Future<br \/>\n[2] Philosophical Reflection in a Multicultural World<br \/>\n[3] Philosophy: Bridging Social Gaps<br \/>\n[4] The Values of Societies of the Future<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>World Philosophy Day offers an opportunity to rethink the meaning of thinking and the values that can shape the future of human societies.
