With the 2025 theme focusing on \u201cFostering Disability-Inclusive Societies\u201d, the day underscores the need to implement inclusive strategies more than ever.<\/strong><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-39491\" src=\"https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/\u0645\u0639\u0644\u0648\u0644.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"266\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/\u0645\u0639\u0644\u0648\u0644.jpg 736w, https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/12\/\u0645\u0639\u0644\u0648\u0644-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">December 3 is observed annually as the International Day of People with Disabilities, proclaimed by the United Nations General Assembly in 1992 to promote awareness of the rights, dignity and active participation of persons with disabilities in all aspects of life: political, social, economic and cultural.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In recent years, a specific theme has been designated each year to focus on different aspects of the participation and empowerment of people with disabilities. The Day was observed in 2023 under the theme \u201cUnited in action to rescue and achieve the SDGs for, with and by people with disabilities\u201d, in 2024 under the theme \u201cAmplifying the leadership of people with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future\u201d, and in 2025 under the theme \u201cFostering disability-inclusive societies for advancing social progress\u201d.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">In this regard, the United Nations Disability Inclusion Strategy sets out a global framework and structure to systematically mainstream disability inclusion across all levels and activities of the United Nations. The Strategy emphasizes accessibility, the active participation and equality of people with disabilities, and is grounded in the disability rights movement\u2019s well-known principle: \u201cNothing about us without us\u201d.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">Therefore, the observance of the International Day of People with Disabilities this year should not be reduced to slogans alone. Rather, it should be accompanied by a firm commitment to implementing such strategies, so that accessibility, participation and justice for people with disabilities become a reality.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a href=\"\/#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/#_ftnref1\" name=\"_ftn1\"><\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u06f3 December, the International Day of People with Disabilities, is an opportunity to reaffirm the rights, dignity and active role of people with disabilities.
