Through a collection of historical photographs and albums, the exhibition traces aspects of the evolution of photography and its connections with history, culture, and visual diplomacy.<\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"post-text wp-block-paragraph\">The exhibition was inaugurated in the presence of a number of national officials and cultural, artistic, and diplomatic figures. A representative of Iran\u2019s National Commission for UNESCO also attended the ceremony.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"post-text wp-block-paragraph\">One of the highlights of the exhibition \u201cThis Image Remains\u201d is the unveiling of six rare historical albums dating back to the 19th century, which are being presented to the public for the first time. Featuring images from the Qajar period, Japan, and the Ottoman Empire, these albums offer a glimpse into the history of photography and the cultural and political connections of the era, while recounting Iranians\u2019 first encounters with the art of photography and the emergence of \u201cvisual diplomacy.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"682\" src=\"https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/63935742-1024x682.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-43535\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/63935742-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/63935742-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/63935742-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/unesco.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/63935742.jpg 1280w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p class=\"post-text wp-block-paragraph\">The works presented at the exhibition range from some of the earliest examples of photography to contemporary photo-based artworks, highlighting lesser-known aspects of the photography collection of the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art.
