{"id":50429,"date":"2026-10-05T14:06:43","date_gmt":"2026-10-05T10:36:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/unesco.ir\/memorandum-of-understanding-signed-between-the-iranian-national-commission-for-unesco-and-kerman-governorate\/"},"modified":"2026-11-02T13:46:00","modified_gmt":"2026-11-02T10:16:00","slug":"memorandum-of-understanding-signed-between-the-iranian-national-commission-for-unesco-and-kerman-governorate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unesco.ir\/en\/memorandum-of-understanding-signed-between-the-iranian-national-commission-for-unesco-and-kerman-governorate\/","title":{"rendered":"Memorandum of Understanding Signed between The Iranian National Commission for UNESCO and Kerman Governorate"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"post-text wp-block-paragraph\"><p dir=\"ltr\"><strong>A Memorandum of Understanding between The Iranian National Commission for UNESCO and Kerman Governorate was signed by Dr. Hassan Fartousi, Secretary-General of The Iranian National Commission for UNESCO, and Dr. Mohammad Ali Talebi, Governor of Kerman, with the aim of developing joint cooperation and leveraging the province\u2019s capacities within the framework of UNESCO\u2019s programs and networks.<\/strong><\/p><\/p>\n\n<p class=\"post-text wp-block-paragraph\">During the meeting, held on October 5, 2026, at the office of the Secretary-General of The Iranian National Commission for UNESCO, the province\u2019s cultural, historical, scientific, educational, environmental, and natural capacities were reviewed, along with opportunities to strengthen Kerman\u2019s presence in UNESCO\u2019s programs and networks.&#13;\n<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"post-text wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Mohammad Ali Talebi, Governor of Kerman, highlighted the province\u2019s diverse cultural and historical capacities and underscored the importance of strategically leveraging UNESCO\u2019s resources and networks to promote Kerman at the national and international levels and strengthen cultural, scientific, and educational cooperation.&#13;\n<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"post-text wp-block-paragraph\">Dr. Hassan Fartousi, Secretary-General of The Iranian National Commission for UNESCO, also highlighted Kerman Province\u2019s extensive potential and emphasized the importance of identifying and pursuing eligible nominations for inscription on UNESCO\u2019s international lists, expanding Kerman\u2019s participation in UNESCO networks and programs, organizing national and international events, and promoting and honoring the province\u2019s prominent cultural and historical figures.&#13;\n<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"post-text wp-block-paragraph\">During the meeting, discussions also addressed a range of topics, including the cultural and historical potential associated with the Solomon\u2019s Throne site, the Shah Nematollah Vali Complex and its mosque in Mahan, the \u201cCity of Shahnameh\u201d initiative, the development of international events, leveraging the potential of the province\u2019s sites and heritage inscribed on UNESCO\u2019s lists, and identifying new opportunities for participation in UNESCO programs.&#13;\n<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"post-text wp-block-paragraph\">The establishment of a coordination office of The Iranian National Commission for UNESCO in Kerman Province, based in the city of Kerman, was another point of agreement between the two parties. It was agreed that joint cooperation would be pursued and implemented in accordance with a roadmap extending through 2029.&#13;\n<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img
