
Call for Applications for the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities for 2025
The Call for Applications for Membership in the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities for 2025 has been announced. |
The UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities Secretariat has requested UNESCO Member States, including Iran, to submit applications from their cities for membership in the Network through their respective municipalities.
Accordingly, cities interested in joining the Network that are engaged in various educational programs aimed at promoting sustainable social, environmental, economic and cultural development are invited to submit their applications to the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO no later than 15 June 2025, by reviewing the Information Flyer, the Membership Concept Note, and completing the attached Application Form, and sending their applications to the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO at the following address:
It should be noted that the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities was established in 2015 with the aim of mobilizing resources across different sectors to support learning in urban communities and expand education from basic to higher education, health education, citizenship education, environmental protection education, vocational education, support for citizens in accessing communication and information tools and digital learning programms, and cultural events, with the overall objective of enhancing the social, economic, environmental and cultural capacities of citizens through education. The Network currently has 356 members from 79 countries around the world.
It is worth noting that the Iranian cities of Isfahan, Bandar Khamir, Tehran, Shiraz, Hamedan, Mashhad, Kashan and New Hashtgerd (Mehestan) are members of the UNESCO Global Network of Learning Cities.
