The 37th edition of the URTI International Radio Festival, held under the auspices of UNESCO and dedicated to the global theme “Radio and Climate Change,” brought together a jury comprising members from various countries. The jury was chaired by Carmen Ionescu of Radio Romania, with members from Cameroon, Italy, Morocco, and Portugal evaluating the selected works.

The selection of “Silent Scream” alongside productions by prominent media organizations such as Deutsche Welle and WDR in Germany, Radio France, and broadcasters from Belgium, Argentina, Cameroon, Taiwan, and other countries further enhances the international visibility of Iranian audio productions.

The International Radio and Television Union (URTI) was established in Paris in 1949 under the auspices of UNESCO and is considered one of the world’s oldest and most prestigious media festival organizations. The festival aims to promote cultural exchange and international cooperation in audiovisual production and awards international prizes each year to creative, impactful, and outstanding works.

The nomination of the documentary “Silent Scream” among the finalists of URTI 2025 marks an important step in showcasing the capabilities of Iranian artists and independent producers on the global stage. It also represents a valuable achievement for Iran’s radio and cultural production sector.

It is worth noting that the Exon Multipurpose Institute, officially licensed by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance and recognized as a creative audiovisual industry by the Vice Presidency for Science and Technology, has actively represented Iran at prestigious international festivals in recent years.
