
Announcement of the 2025 UNESCO International Literacy Prizes
Since 1967, UNESCO has organized the International Literacy Prizes program every year with the aim of recognizing outstanding and exemplary activities in the field of literacy. These Prizes include the UNESCO King Sejong Literacy Prize and the UNESCO Confucius Prize for Literacy (three awards each), which are dedicated to a specific theme each year. |
The theme of the Prizes for the current year (2025) has been announced as “Promoting Literacy in the Digital Era,” with the main areas of focus for activities eligible for these Prizes determined as follows:
UNESCO King Sejong Literacy Prize: Development and use of the mother language in literacy
UNESCO Confucius Prize for Literacy: Functional literacy and the use of technological environments in support of adults in rural areas and out-of-school youth.
Accordingly, applicants wishing to participate in this program are requested to first click on the Website and, by visiting it, carefully review the information required for participation in the program and the conditions and requirements for eligible projects, and then, by clicking on the Database, obtain a user account and complete the online application form no later than 10 June 2025.
