Expected outcomes include creating green job opportunities for local women and young people and developing replicable models for other ecologically sensitive wetlands.
The other award recipients represent Morocco, China, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the United States, Brazil, Ghana, Argentina, Algeria and Mexico. Their projects address issues including the impacts of climate change, biodiversity conservation, Indigenous knowledge and sustainable development in biosphere reserves.
