The webinar aims to examine the role of technical and vocational education and training (TVET) in responding to rapid changes in the labour market and strengthening lifelong learning systems in cities. Experts, policymakers and professionals working in education and skills development from various countries will exchange experiences and perspectives.
Technical and Vocational Education and Training: Responding to New Labour Market Needs
Technological developments, including the expansion of artificial intelligence, climate change, demographic shifts and changes in economic structures, have created new skills requirements in the labour market. Under these circumstances, reskilling and upskilling have become key priorities for education and skills development systems. However, many adults continue to face barriers to accessing learning opportunities that meet the evolving needs of the labour market.
The webinar will explore the role of learning cities in strengthening technical and vocational education and training as part of lifelong learning systems. It will also discuss ways to foster cooperation among municipal authorities, technical and vocational education and training centres, employers and local organizations to develop flexible and inclusive learning pathways for people of all ages.
The webinar will take place from 14:30 to 15:30 Iran time. Participation will be online via Zoom.
