Extension of the UNESCO Chair in Interdisciplinary Research in Diabetes at the University of Tehran for a Third Term
| The UNESCO Chair in Interdisciplinary Research in Diabetes, established at the University of Tehran in 2014 under the leadership of Ali-Akbar Movahedi-Movahedi, has been renewed for a new term and will continue its activities within the framework of UNESCO’s scientific programs. |

Over the years, the Chair has played an active role in research, education, science promotion, the development of scientific cooperation, and the advancement of science diplomacy through an interdisciplinary approach to diabetes. Its focus areas have included molecular diabetes, biophysics of diabetes, and stress. The Chair has also made a significant contribution to advancing diabetes-related research by establishing and strengthening scientific networks, collaborating with domestic and international scientific institutions and organizations, and promoting specialized knowledge.
The renewal of the Chair’s mandate can be regarded as a testament to the University of Tehran’s scientific standing and international reputation, as well as an expression of UNESCO’s confidence in the scientific capacities of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the field of interdisciplinary research.
