Two Iranian Students Shine in the 2025 Great Wall Scholarship Program
In a valuable achievement for Iran’s student community and young researchers, two outstanding Iranian students have been selected as recipients of the 2025 Great Wall Scholarship. |
The applications of Amir Mohammad Chehre and Maryam Saleknejad, two candidates for this prestigious scholarship, were selected by the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO from among more than 20 Iranian applicants and submitted to the programme’s secretariat at UNESCO. Both candidates were included in the final list of 2025 scholarship recipients.
The Great Wall Scholarship is an annual scholarship program jointly offered by UNESCO and the Government of China to international master’s and doctoral students and researchers active in various fields. For the 2025–2026 academic year, the program offered 75 one-year study and postgraduate scholarships. Each of UNESCO’s 194 Member States was eligible to nominate only two candidates.
Congratulating Mr. Chehre and Ms. Saleknejad on their achievement, the Iranian National Commission for UNESCO described this success as a sign of the continued advancement of Iranian women and young people in international scientific arenas. The Commission expressed its hope that this successful and promising path would continue for all Iranians.
