International Youth Seminar on Gender Equality Held
The International Seminar “Youth Voices for Gender Justice,” supported by UNESCO and bringing together young people from networks affiliated with UNESCO’s National Commissions, was held online on 10 September 2026.
The seminar was organized by the European and North American Federation of UNESCO Clubs and Associations and the National Federation of UNESCO Clubs of the Republic of Moldova. It brought together young people aged 18 to 35 from UNESCO Clubs and youth organizations across Europe.

The event aimed to strengthen the role of young people in advancing gender justice and to translate awareness and dialogue into practical action, projects and social change.
The seminar addressed a range of issues, including the impact of cultural and social factors on gender justice; educational gaps affecting women and girls and the need to expand their opportunities to participate in science and technology; and the stereotypes and conflicting social expectations faced by young women in leadership positions.
Participants also emphasized the role of women’s participation in achieving peace, development and societal progress. It is worth noting that a representative of the Social and Human Sciences Group of Iran’s National Commission for UNESCO also took part in the seminar.
At this international event, young people were recognized not merely as future beneficiaries, but as active agents, leaders and drivers of change in the present. Through dialogue, polls and group activities, participants also explored the challenges and potential solutions related to achieving gender justice.
