Introducing the “Education4allSDGs.org” Program: A Tool for Strengthening the Alignment of Educational Initiatives with the Sustainable Development Goals
To strengthen the role of education in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and support Education for Sustainable Development initiatives, the Education4allSDGs.org program was launched with the support of UNESCO and the French National Commission for UNESCO. This innovative tool is designed to help policymakers, planners, educational institutions, researchers, and other stakeholders in the education sector assess and analyze the extent to which educational policies, programs, and projects align with the Sustainable Development Goals.
Available free of charge in English and French, the program serves as a self-assessment and decision-support tool, enabling users to examine how educational initiatives address the key competencies and topics needed to tackle global challenges. It also allows users to assess the positive and negative impacts of educational policies, programs, and projects on the 169 targets of the Sustainable Development Goals, from the design and implementation stages through to monitoring.
Key features of this tool include enhancing understanding of the links and interactions among the Sustainable Development Goals, strengthening the alignment of educational initiatives with UNESCO’s Roadmap for Education for Sustainable Development, improving monitoring and evaluation systems, and fostering a better understanding of the systemic approach underpinning the Sustainable Development Goals.
The Education4allSDGs.org program is part of the Apps4allSDGs.org portal, established to develop digital tools that support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. Alongside it, a new version of Water4allSDGs.org has also been released for the water sector. Organizations and institutions interested in these tools can also arrange online sessions to learn more about their features and applications.
