UNESCO’s Expert Meetings Held During Digital Learning Week 2025

To mark Digital Learning Week 2025 (2–5 September), UNESCO held a series of expert meetings at its Headquarters in Paris under the theme “AI and the Future of Education: Disruptions, Dilemmas and Directions.”

During this four-day international event, experts, policymakers and education practitioners from around the world gathered to discuss the growing impact of artificial intelligence on education systems. The meetings explored challenges such as digital surveillance, algorithmic bias and the erosion of human accountability in educational decision-making, as well as the transformative opportunities offered by technology.

Through its efforts to chart pathways for the equitable, ethical and human-centred integration of artificial intelligence into education, UNESCO seeks to turn technology into a tool for inclusive and equitable progress.
